When did you start skateboarding? and why? ¿Cuando empezaste a andar en skate? y ¿porqué?
1992-1993. There was a kid in my neighborhood who was really good at skateboarding. I saw him do a couple of 360 flips and front side flips and I knew right away that it was something that I had to learn.

It really depends. Everything’s a compromise with shoes. More protection and durability mean less board feel and vice versa. In the early 2000’s, shoes were really bulky and protective which was good for jumping down big stuff. Now that I’m a bit older I appreciate shoes with good board feel. I have a high arch and so I buy soft sole, high arch insoles which are key.

A principios de los 2000, las zapatillas eran realmente grandes, y confortables, lo cual las hacía ideales para saltar cosas grandes. Ahora que soy un poco más grande, me gustan más las zapatillas con buen boardfeel. Tengo el arco del pie grande, por lo que compro zapatillas con suela blanda y con plantillas con soporte en el arco, lo cual para mi, es la clave.
What is your favorite era of skate shoes? ¿Cuál es tu época de zapas preferidas?
I loved the Marc Johnson and Emerica’s. The koston 1’s were amazing as well. I also loved the Chad Muska’s with the secret pocket.

Were there any skate shoes you loved and never could have? ¿Hubo algunas zapas que amabas y nunca la pudiste tener?
I always thought sheep shoes were really cool. They went out of business before I could get a pair. When I was a kid I was pretty loyal to etnies in the early to mid 90s.
